Lead Teacher Job Description

+

Welcome to Oak City Academy. OCA is a school that believes teachers are designed to reveal truth, goodness, and beauty through the teaching and learning process. We are most concerned with students loving learning and mastering curriculum. We accomplish this aim without implementing conventional tests, grades, and homework. Homework is not given in the elementary years because we believe young children should play outside and enjoy family time in the evenings. Student success is overwhelming due to our individualized and hands on approach to learning in a Christ centered environment. Oak City Academy is different than most private schools in that we bring diversity into the private school setting by making private education accessible to low-income families through a 90% scholarship program.

Come join a team of passionate educators at Oak City Academy! Our program is exploding, and we are continually hiring qualified PK/K through Middle School Teachers. Interviews for the upcoming school year begin in January. Applicants with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Education (Early Childhood Ed, Elementary Ed, Exceptional Student Ed, Child Development), a BK Teaching License, K-8 Teaching License, AMI/AMS certified applicants, or applicants with Early Childhood/Education Credentials should send a résumé AND cover letter to Kari Breed, OCA's Elementary Principal, at kbreed@oakcityacademy.org. Cover letters should include what draws you to apply at Oak City Academy, how your faith impacts your daily life, and how your education and past experience could be utilized at our school.
